yerba de tajo, Eclipta prostrata
Wow! Found it! This little sprawling herb grows in damp spots, often near shores. The next time you're near such a spot, say the west shore of Lake Erie, you will want to gather some. Then grab your copy of The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India and find the recipe. This and nine more herbs mixed together will reverse aging! And, more real and serious, may just help ameliorate the effects of radiation poisoning. Isn't it handy that it grows almost everywhere in tropical and warmer climates, and may be moving northward. It wasn't collected in Michigan until 1949. So, maybe it doesn't actually reverse the effects of aging. But I guess people use it because it's kind of a Pascal's wager of herbal medicine. Try some and it won't hurt you, and if it actually works, wow! You could be in luck in AL, AR, AZ, CA, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV, AND ON. Monroe Co MI, 8/15/15. Aster family, Asteraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
