Should spiked hoarypea be the next kiwi fruit? If you're selling things, there's a tendency to find more appealing names to market them under. Chinese gooseberries become kiwi fruit. But one nursery went another direction. Plant Delights says,"How can you not love a plant with a common name like spiked hoarypea?" Then they give up their own game, and start calling their plant 'Awakening'. These flowers do have a more phase when they look more awake, but so far I've only seen them neatly folded like this.
