wall hawkweed, Hieracium murorum
Wall hawkweed is another one of us, a European immigrant. This batch sure picked a nice spot to put down roots, next to a waterfall on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Then you go a short distance down the road and there's a thirty foot pole that shows how much snow feel in the past year. The Keweenaw is a great place to visit for scenery and wildflowers, or to jump off to Isle Royale. But pick your season thoughtfully. Wall hawkweed grows in AK, CT, IL, MA, ME, MI, NH, NJ, NY, VT, WI, BC, NB, NF, NS, ON, QC, and GL. Keweenaw Co MI, 7/12/14.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
