white fringed orchid, Platanthera blephariglottis
OMG and OOPS and all that! I previously posted an image that I claimed was white fringed orchid. I just assumed that based on what someone else said. That one was prairie fringed orchid ( see today's blog page). So here's the real deal. In case you too wondered, blephariglottis means eyelash tongue. You can also see eyebrows on the upper two petals. This is a bog plant in AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, VA, VT, NB, NF, NS, ON, PE, QC, and on SPM. Allegan State Game Area, Allegan Co MI, 7/16/22. Orchid family, Orchidaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
