alyce clover, Alysicarpus vaginalis
I pulled over for the St. John's-wort that caught my eye, but quickly became more fascinated by these little pastel bits scattered on the roadside. They turned out to be sort of a tropical version of clover. Originally from Africa or south Asia, alyce clover has become a useful plant much like the true clovers, and can now be spotted around the tropical world, and as an occasional annual in the subtropics. Also called white moneywort. We in the temperate zone see too much moneywort creeping through our woods, those on Pacific Islands are troubled by alyce clover. Here they been seen in AL, FL, GA, HI, LA, MS, NC, TX, and VA. Polk Co FL, 10/21/15. Bean family, Fabaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
