Florida lobelia, Lobelia floridana
Florida lobelia is one of about 13 kinds of Lobelia in Florida. That may be the most of any state. Here in Michigan there are seven. In California only three. Lobelia seems to be one of the genera that most fascinates wildflower people, and if you're one of us, I guess you need to head southeast? Florida lobelia grows in AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, and TX. Everglades National Park, Miami-Dade Co FL, 3/20/16. Bellflower family, Campanulaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
