Macartney rose, Rosa bracteata
Macartney rose, or sivapriya is originally from India. In ancient times tea from this plant was used to treat acid reflux. Aha! More importantly, on a different plane it was used to unblock the Chakras, bringing harmony to body, mind, and spirit. On yet another plain, it was used in Texas as a living fence much like multiflora rose farther north. And like multiflora it spread to become a serious invasive problem. So much for harmony! Macartney rose is now found in AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, and VA. Hardin Co TX, 4/16/22. Rose family, Rosaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
