lovage, Levisticum officinale
Look up lovage and you will discover that it has properties of celery, parsley, and fennel. Roots, stems, leaves, and seeds are all edible. Lovage has been prized since antiquity, and probably long before. So why can't we find it in the grocery store? Apparently it can't compete when celery, parsley and fennel are easily available. Lovage has escaped in CO, CT, MA, ME, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NM, NY, OH, PA, VT, WI, NS, ON, QC, and SK. Beal Garden MSU, 6/4/12. Celery family, Apiaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
