stemmy four-nerve daisy, Tetraneuris scaposa
I got to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center very early, so I took a walk while waiting for them to open. Stemmy was growing in a thicket in the park adjacent to the center. Is stemmy even a word? Looking it up the first thing I learned was that stimmy is slang for coronavirus stimulus payments. Any way Tetraneuris is a genus of nine species that grow around the Rocky Mountain corridor from Canada to Mexico, except for one that is a Great Lakes rarity. Several of them are very similar and this one ends up with that kind of artificial name. Now wildflower enthusiasts can talk to each other about it, separate from other four-nerves. Stemmy grows in AR, CO, KS, NM, OK, TX, and Mexico. Travis Co TX, 4/17/22. Aster family, Asteraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
