cleavers, Galium aparine
Everyone is this plant's favorite. Walk by a patch of cleavers and they will almost seem to jump on. Small curved barbs on the stems seen to stick to everything. What's surprising is to find out that something of that texture has been used as a potherb. Apparently the barbs soften in cooking. Don't eat too much unless you're in need of a diuretic. Stickywilly or sticky bob is everywhere except HI, LB, NT, NU, PE, YT, and SPM. Lenawee Co MI, 4/17/12.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
