Texas bullnettle, Cnidoscolus texanus
Texas bullnettle is an exceptional pretty plant. One might take exception to suggestions that it be used in flower gardens in dry climates. It's very attractive and very nasty. Admire it carefully because contact with it will cause extreme burning pain that lasts for hours. And despite that the seeds are edible, and are still very carefully harvested by their admirers. Texas bullnettle, also called tread-softly or finger-rot, grows in dry open areas in AR, KS, LA, OK, and TX. San Jacinto Co TX, 4/16/22. Spurge family, Euphorbiaceae.
