coral bells, Heuchera sanguinea
Coral bells is one of thirty-seven species of Heuchera, all native to North America. Those thirty-seven are notoriously difficult to tell apart. They intergade and hybridize. And then we get hold of them and create more variation for our gardens. In nature coral bells have flowers like this, and mostly green leaves. In gardens the leaves often include or are entirely red, and the flowers can be white to full rose with larger petals. Coral bells is wild in AZ and NM. Beal Garden MSU, 5/27/14. Rockbreak family, Saxifragaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
