Engelmann's daisy, Engelmannia peristenia
Engelmann's daisy is not just another sunflower-like flower. Its habit and foliage set it apart. It's short compared to many sunflowerish plants. The leaves are softly fuzzy and wavy edged to deeply incised (see blog page). Navajo have used an infusion of this plant to ease cold congestion. Sometimes used in high country gardens, it is short lived but freely seeds. Engelmann's daisy or sunflower, or cutleaf daisy grows in AR, CO, KS, MO, NE, NM, OK, SD, and TX. Travis Co TX, 4/17/22. Aster family, Asteraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
